Rather than making combat the answer to monster encounters, the game makes threats impossible to kill. Progress comes from navigating the zoo, solving enclosure puzzles, and assembling shards while avoiding or interrupting pursuing creatures.
What is Zoonomaly?
Zoonomaly is a horror puzzle game set in an open-world zoo overtaken by monsters.
Exploration is nonlinear, allowing different routes through the grounds as key shards are gathered from animal enclosures. Each enclosure contains a puzzle, while mazes and roaming monster anomalies create hazards during exploration. The monsters cannot be killed, so survival depends on avoiding contact and running from danger. A Bloom O'Bang can interrupt a monster's pursuit and reveal an aura spectrum for invisible creatures. After collecting the scattered shards, the player assembles a master key to open the source of the infestation and uncover its origin.
