Our take on ZHIVE
The store presentation gives notable space to action, physics effects, and music, while the core structure is a small command game about placing and directing undead. Its scope is closer to repeated tactical encounters than to a large strategy campaign.
What is ZHIVE?
ZHIVE is a small strategy game about directing undead against soldiers inside a facility.
Players choose areas where the undead spawn, then guide them toward a target while responding to enemy movement. Well-equipped soldiers can destroy minions, restock, and search for survivors, making placement and timing central to each encounter. Battles include physics effects that send props and body parts flying. Survivor locations change between plays, and the enemy AI searches for them as well, adding variation to repeated attempts. The game includes action-focused clashes between undead and soldiers, along with an original soundtrack. Each encounter asks whether the soldiers will rescue the facility’s survivors or the undead will overwhelm them.

ZHIVE compared to similar games
ZHIVE centers on placing undead and directing them toward targets while soldiers search for survivors. Anomaly: Warzone Earth also combines action and strategy, but uses a reversed tower-defense structure focused on an alien invasion. Dungeon Defenders: Awakened combines cooperative action RPG and tower defense systems with loot, leveling, pets, and character customization, unlike ZHIVE’s smaller unit-direction format.
