Our take on Your Star
The store emphasis on exploration and fighting understates how much progression depends on riddles and the teddy bear’s light. Mind and Will upgrades also come from locating hidden items and missing bear pieces, making search and puzzle-solving central to advancement.
What is Your Star?
Control a young boy searching a haunted mansion for his sister and a way out.
Exploration involves finding keys, navigating the house, and surviving a darker alternate version. Shadows appear throughout the mansion, including stronger enemies that block progress. Logic and memory riddles advance the story and can reveal bonus items. A teddy bear provides light that disperses darkness, but Shadows are drawn to it and can drain its power, requiring combat.
The boy has Mind and Will characteristics: Mind represents resistance to madness, while Will supports fighting Shadows. Hidden items and missing teddy-bear pieces can improve these characteristics. The game combines adventure exploration, RPG elements, and horror, with visuals based on hand-drawn paper artwork. It was developed with Game Maker for Windows systems.
