Our take on Xotic
The store emphasis falls on huge scores and colorful effects, while the described play centers on shooting, chaining plant reactions, collecting essence, and finding hidden objectives. The premise of restoring life to a planet is present, but the feature list gives more space to scoring systems and upgrades.
What is Xotic?
Play an arcade-style first-person shooter on a planet controlled by the Orb.
Use the Macroterra weapon to destroy scab plants and enemies; destroying plants allows new life to grow and reduces the Orb’s control. Chain plant reactions to raise score multipliers, collect Orb essence for points, and capture airborne essence for aerial combo bonuses. Levels also contain hidden Orb brains and rewards for gathering all essence. Experience points can be used to upgrade weapons and skills, including an ability that draws points toward the player. Hard Hologram technology provides mobile shields and aerial platforms. The game includes colorful environments, Steam leaderboards, and achievements.
