Our take on XLR
XLR pairs team arena combat with a solo training mode, rather than limiting play to multiplayer matches. Its movement also departs from a single shared approach: many classes slide, while Zoner uses teleportation.
What is XLR?
XLR is a multiplayer team arena shooter.
Players form teams with friends or join a random match, select a player class, and deploy from a dropship to battle at enemy facilities. The setting follows human factions fighting companion AIs, with facility raids for energy, technology, and supplies described as a mission goal. A single-player training mode offers simulated enemies for practice. The nine listed class concepts include ranged attacks, stealth, heavy weapons, and teleportation, though some classes and abilities are marked as coming soon. Many classes use sliding for movement; the Zoner class instead uses short-range teleportation. XLR is in Early Access and remains under active development, with the vendor noting that some aspects are rough or missing.
