What is XELAN FORCE?
XELAN FORCE is a retro-style vertical scrolling shooter with an 8-bit presentation.
Its sound is modeled on an FC machine, while a restricted color palette and reduced modern visual effects shape the presentation. The P・L・S system adjusts difficulty according to player skill, with higher difficulty increasing the score rate. Gameplay shifts between offensive and defensive approaches, and hidden items can be sought during runs. Caravan mode provides a separate high-score challenge. The story follows pilot Levi Kuzier, who takes the unfinished Riserion aircraft into space after Alien Muldark's forces seize a satellite base near the planet Zelan. Zelan's inhabitants had been preparing to colonize other worlds after resource depletion and climate change threatened their home.
