Our take on WREST
Rather than keeping horror in a fixed setting, the game turns sleep into its main environment. Progress runs through the nightmares of the ship’s passengers, combining puzzle solving and combat inside a story about an endangered spacecraft.
What is WREST?
Play as Andy Bishop, chief engineer of the spaceship Neptune, after waking from a disturbing stasis dream while the crew faces danger.
Enter the nightmares of fellow passengers to uncover a darkening story and search for a way to prevent disaster. A multi-tool serves as the main equipment for solving puzzles and fighting corrupted bots and nightmarish creatures. The ship’s AI accompanies the journey. The game uses VR and asks players to keep their eyes open during its nightmare sequences. A two-player mode was announced for a later release, with tablet support through iPad or Android devices.
