Wren’s Resurgence is a 2D action platformer in which Wren travels through Yokai-infested lands to rescue her sister, Swan.
Combat uses a katana and fast-paced movement, while double jumping, dashing, and wall climbing support traversal. Shrines dedicated to the warrior Masamune contain eight blades that Wren can unlock and use in battle. Defeated Yokai can provide new powers, while an upgradeable Omamori charm offers protection. Wren also documents the true nature of the creatures she defeats in a journal. The game includes 10 levels, Japanese-inspired landscapes, 36 Yokai enemies based on Japanese folklore, and large enemies such as Jubokko and Gashadokuro.
