Our take on World Turtles
Its cooperative, sustainability-focused structure gives up conquest as the main route to progress. That keeps attention on growing the Meep settlement and feeding the turtle, but leaves less room for players seeking a conflict-driven colony game.
What is World Turtles?
World Turtles is a colony-building game about guiding the Meeps, a peace-loving people living on the back of a giant turtle traveling through space.
Players develop a small village into a larger settlement by harvesting resources, building, researching economic sustainability, exploring the turtleback, and uniting Meep tribes. The colony must also provide food for the World Turtle. Cooperation is central to the challenge; the game frames survival around preparing for dangerous stretches of space rather than conquest. Sectors can change the climate and water levels or bring disasters. Procedural generation changes the turtle and the universe between playthroughs. After the turtle is healthy and the Meeps’ society is established, players can launch the Meeps Space Program.
