Our take on WAVECADE
The focus on wave-based arcade action sacrifices broader campaign structure: progression centers on surviving, scoring, and facing increasingly fast waves rather than exploring a long-form world or narrative.
What is WAVECADE?
WAVECADE is a sci-fi arcade shooter in which vertical movement changes the game’s speed.
Players fire at blocks descending from the top of the screen, with formations appearing randomly, in rows, streams, or larger patterns. Waves gradually accelerate, while hazards can cost a life and may also destroy blocks. Powerups can be stacked, upgraded by collecting duplicates, and kept active for longer periods. Abilities provide an emergency option during dangerous moments. Boss encounters introduce enemies with their own attacks and patterns. The game includes Competitive, Relaxed, One-hit KO, No blocks shall pass, and Quick Game modes. Steam multiplayer supports joining or inviting a friend, with scores recorded on leaderboards. Ships, colors, skins, and propulsion effects can be customized.
