What is Wartorn?
Wartorn is a single-player, squad-based roguelite adventure following sisters Yara and Elani across the Isles of Talaur toward their ancestral fortress.
Players recruit fantasy creatures such as goblins, elves, demons, and treefolk, then select squads for real-time battles. Fire, water, tar, plants, and lightning interact with one another and with battlefield conditions, creating different tactical possibilities. Positioning, squad combinations, and ability use affect each fight, while losses reduce morale. If the caravan loses all hope, the run ends. An overworld map offers branching routes and unpredictable events, with food, hope, and squad condition to manage. Family members provide story details and heirlooms that grant advantages in later runs.
