StrategyIs Warlords Under Siege worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want to build a settlement while defending it from repeated attacks
- Players who enjoy improving a hero and choosing bonuses between battles
- Players who want persistent unlocks across runs or to create custom levels
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want a campaign with a fixed endpoint may hit a wall with the repeated siege-and-upgrade cycle.
- Players who prefer steady difficulty may find the escalating enemy threat a poor fit.
- Players looking for a purely tactical combat game may not want the city construction and resource gathering.
Our take on Warlords Under Siege
The likely bounce point is the loop after a city falls: progress carries forward through gold-funded unlocks, but another siege follows. Players seeking a fixed campaign endpoint may lose interest there; those who prefer a steady threat may hit a wall as attacks grow harder.
What is Warlords Under Siege?
Warlords Under Siege combines real-time strategy with roguelike progression.
Gather resources to construct and improve a small city, recruit soldiers, and raise defenses against repeated enemy attacks. Choose a hero and direct them toward important chokepoints, collecting experience to upgrade their abilities. At daybreak, select a bonus, such as improved infantry or faster production. During each siege, collect gold; after a city falls, spend it on technologies, improvements, and card packs for later runs. The game also lets players change a deck of upgrade cards between playthroughs. Its escalating attacks and persistent unlocks frame repeated attempts, while a level editor provides a way to create custom stages.
