Our take on Wanted Shadows
The run-based structure gives equipment choices and permanent progression a central role, but limits the experience’s variety to repeated horde-combat cycles. Players seeking exploration, dialogue, or a broad adventure structure will find those elements secondary to surviving encounters and refining loadouts.
What is Wanted Shadows?
Wanted Shadows is a bullet-heaven roguelite set during All Hallows’ Eve, where monsters battle for territory and demons threaten an infernal home.
Runs focus on surviving large enemy groups through movement and attacks, while skill and tactical choices determine whether the character overwhelms the horde. Weapons and trinkets can be selected, combined, and upgraded to create a loadout. Money earned during runs purchases additional characters, weapons, and permanent powers. The game combines 2D and 3D visuals inspired by Octopath Traveler and Paper Mario, with handmade melodic RPG music. Its structure centers on repeated combat runs, between-run progression, and increasingly developed equipment.
