Our take on Waking Mars
Its defining mechanic is the construction of functioning alien ecosystems: plants and creatures can be arranged to feed, suppress, or influence one another while exploration continues.
What is Waking Mars?
Set in 2097, Waking Mars follows a first-contact mission trapped underground after a cave-in on Mars.
Jetpack through a network of caverns, investigate ruins and signals, and learn how alien organisms behave within a living ecosystem. Survival depends on arranging plants and creatures, including feeding one species with another, removing infestations, and researching unusual behaviors. The open-ended exploration leads toward secrets from Mars’ past and a decision that affects the fate of the planet. The game includes hazardous terrain, original music lasting nearly two hours, and controls for mouse and keyboard as well as gamepads.
