Our take on Volunteer
Rather than presenting creature encounters as the whole structure, the game combines survival pressure with a biotechnology mystery. Finding access items, conserving ammunition, and uncovering the clinic’s purpose all sit alongside the effort to escape the unfamiliar place.
What is Volunteer?
Volunteer is a first-person horror game about surviving in a chaotic area overrun by hostile creatures.
The main character, a former soldier, joins a biotechnology clinic as a volunteer and takes part in experiments involving human DNA. When he awakens after an extended period unconscious, he is in a location unlike the one where he went in. Escaping means facing creatures that leave little room for hesitation: players need to react quickly and stay alert. Ammunition is limited, so shots must be conserved. Finding items that open the way forward is also part of the journey. As he searches for an exit, the protagonist uncovers the strange purpose behind the clinic’s research.
