What is Volcano Simulator - Reunion Island?
Create and observe volcanic eruptions in real time across rendered landscapes of Réunion Island.
The simulator lets users create eruptive fissures and adjust lava flow rate, temperature, and pressure as volcanic structures develop, including lava fields and cones. Camera controls support movement, rotation, and centering on selected points. Additional views include wireframe and normal-map modes. The simulation can be paused or run at different speeds, while the main menu provides scenarios and graphics settings. A custom graphics and physics engine powers the simulation using GPU computing. The project was co-created in 2016 with Eric Chahi, known for Another World, From Dust, and Paper Beast.
