Play it if you…
Good fit- Players interested in emergency-room diagnosis and treatment decisions

Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a large medical simulation with many cases in the base game may find two scenarios and nine patients limited.
- Players wanting substantially different situations across repeated sessions may encounter the same main-game patient cases again.
- Players looking for action-focused hospital gameplay may find the emphasis on testing, diagnosis, treatment, and scoring too procedural.
Our take on Vital Signs: Emergency Department
Rather than presenting emergency medicine as an open-ended hospital-management game, it focuses on individual cases and care decisions during a shift. The score compares treatment choices with ideal and improper care, making clinical judgment the central structure instead of construction, staffing, or resource expansion.
What is Vital Signs: Emergency Department?
Vital Signs: Emergency Department places players in the role of an emergency-room doctor handling incoming cases.
The main game contains two scenarios and nine patient cases. For each patient, players select from available tests, determine a diagnosis, and prescribe treatment. Decisions during a shift affect which cases receive care as new patients arrive. The game records scores by comparing ideal care with improper care. Adjustable game speed changes the pace of play. Nine additional downloadable content packs add further scenarios and patients for continued case management after the main game’s nine patients have been completed.
