Our take on Viscera
The defining structure is a no-frills horde shooter where weapons and abilities cycle during combat, forcing each build to change while the player pursues a high score across four stages.
What is Viscera?
Viscera is a top-down arcade shooter focused on surviving waves of mutants across four stages, each with its own challenges and chokepoints.
The game offers over 50 weapons, including rifles, explosives, gravity guns, lightning turrets, and black hole generators, alongside more than 80 abilities in a perk system. Weapons and skills rotate during runs, requiring changes to the current build and approach. Objectives and Steam achievements unlock additional weapons, abilities, and stages. Global and friends-only Steam leaderboards track performance. The structure omits crafting, dialogue trees, skill checks, and cutscenes, keeping the focus on combat, build choices, and high-score attempts. Play is supported with a controller or keyboard and mouse.
