Our take on Victory At Sea Ironclad
The bounce point arrives when an engagement goes badly and cannot be undone. With no do-over, mistakes in fleet orders or resource protection carry into the campaign, which may frustrate players who rely on retries to test a strategy.
What is Victory At Sea Ironclad?
Victory at Sea Ironclad is a real-time naval strategy game set during the American Civil War.
Players choose the United or Confederate States and direct a campaign across an open-world map of seas and rivers. The command view can shift from the wider North American theatre to individual ships and fleets. Tasks include hunting blockade runners, protecting resources, harassing shipping, trading with foreign powers, and mounting amphibious assaults against major ports. Resources support farms, factories, ports, shipyards, and new vessels, including ironclads. Fleets can be customised for cargo, troop transport, or other tasks. Gameplay can be paused while orders are issued. The campaign has no levels or do-over. The South faction and custom battles are listed as Early Access additions.
