Its defining format is the player-built battlefield: defenses, supplies and weapons are placed before the zombie assault, then revised after defeat for another tactical attempt.
What is VERSUS SQUAD?
Versus Squad combines top-down twin-stick shooting with player-built defenses.
Players choose a class, attributes, weapons and map setting, then position barricades, explosives, sentry guns, ammunition, medical supplies and weapon stations. Free Play and Tactical Mode support solo play, online cooperation or local cooperation for up to 4 players. Battles include attacks from all directions or assaults on selected breach points, with up to a dozen bosses appearing simultaneously. During each game, players collect loot, repair their base and gain perks such as improved weapon accuracy and drone strikes. Maps can be saved to disk or Steam Cloud, allowing defenses to be rearranged after defeat. The game also includes custom map creation, leaderboards, achievements and player and weapon statistics.
