Our take on Venture Kid
The focused retro platforming structure gives up broader genre variety: the experience centers on 9 action levels, boss fights, power-ups, and secrets rather than a larger set of gameplay systems or activities.
What is Venture Kid?
Venture Kid is a retro action platformer following Andy on a mission to stop Dr.
Teklov from completing a secret weapon inside a space fortress. The game is structured around 9 action levels, each featuring a boss encounter, with Andy fighting through Teklov’s minions along the way. Eight power-ups provide different useful abilities during the journey, while hidden areas offer additional places to discover and explore. The game uses an 8-bit visual style and a chiptune soundtrack by Matt Creamer, known for Retro City Rampage. Responsive controls support the platforming and combat, and full controller support is included. Progress requires skill and determination across the fortress stages.
