Our take on Vault of the Void
The low-randomness structure gives deck decisions and enemy previews a central role, but leaves less room for players who enjoy surprise events and unpredictable run turns.
What is Vault of the Void?
Vault of the Void is a single-player roguelike deckbuilder centered on continual deck changes during runs and before battles.
Players select from 4 classes, build around more than 440 cards, use over 320 Artifacts, and fight 90+ monsters while progressing toward The Void. Void Stones add abilities to cards, while purging lets players discard unwanted cards for additional energy. Battles show upcoming enemies and use a Threat system: attacks raise Threat, which triggers damage at the end of the next turn unless reduced with Block cards. Runs include selectable difficulty levels, from Introduction to Impossible+.
How Vault of the Void plays

- Each class uses a distinct playstyle.
- 02Large Card Pool
- More than 440 cards support repeated deck changes during a run.
- 03Void Stones
- Collected stones can add abilities to individual cards.
- 04Threat Combat
- Enemy attacks build a visible Threat total that can be reduced with Block cards before it deals damage.
- 05Selectable Difficulty
- Runs range from the introductory setting to Impossible+.
Vault of the Void compared to similar games
Shogun Showdown also combines roguelike progression with deckbuilding, but its description focuses on turn-based positioning, attack tiles, and timing attacks against the Shogun. Vault of the Void instead emphasizes 4 classes, more than 440 cards, Void Stone customization, previewed enemies, and reduced randomness.
