- Players who enjoy repeated runs with changing layouts and character builds
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players who want progress to persist after a failed run will hit the permanent-death reset.
- Players seeking a relaxed platformer may bounce off the demanding combat, traps, bosses, and changing run structure.
- Solo players who do not enjoy repeated cave expeditions may find the run-based format repetitive.
Our take on Vagante
The bounce point arrives when a failed run erases its progress. Players who need persistent advancement may also hit a wall at the combat-and-trap difficulty, particularly when changing layouts remove the comfort of memorized routes.
What is Vagante?
Vagante is a challenging action platformer set in a dark fantasy world of monsters, demons, traps, and bosses.
Each run uses procedurally generated levels, so layouts and hazards change between attempts, while permanent death resets progress after a failed run. Players can adventure alone or cooperate with up to four participants through local or online play on Steam. Character setup includes a class, appearance, and background, followed by skill choices during progression. Enchanted items add abilities and modifiers, and the Book of Secrets records unlocked classes, backgrounds, music, and other discoveries. The game includes four distinct areas, each with its own dangers, and centers on investigating a cave rumored to contain an immense treasure.
