Our take on Turnbound
The inventory-grid focus trades direct combat control for planning depth. Battles resolve automatically after the build is arranged, so the main decisions happen before combat rather than during each exchange.
What is Turnbound?
Turnbound is an inventory-focused autobattler set in a haunted board game.
During shop phases, players choose, place, or upgrade weapons, items, armour, consumables, and accessories. Tile positions create effects on surrounding tiles, making each grid arrangement part of the strategy. Trinkets unlock combos, while victories provide branching hero abilities. Battles use builds saved by other players in asynchronous PvP, and playback tools show how each setup performed. Code-based duels allow challenges against specific builds, including builds shared by friends or the community. The game includes 4 heroes, dozens of trinkets and abilities, hundreds of items, 6 chambers of progress, a final chamber leaderboard, and customization for the board, profile, rug, and tiles.
How Turnbound plays
- 01Asynchronous PvP
- Battles use builds saved by other players, including builds from runs that are still in progress.
- 02Grid-Based Builds
- Placing a tile can affect nearby tiles, creating positional interactions across the board.
- 03Build Playback
- Battle replays show how a setup performed from left to right and top to bottom.
- 04Code-Based Duels
- Players can challenge a specific build or share one with a unique code.
- 05Branching Abilities
- Winning battles lets the hero gain upgrades from a branching set of abilities.
- 06Six Chambers
- Progression includes 6 chambers and a leaderboard for the final chamber.
