Our take on Tribal Hunter
The pitch highlights size-changing combat, but the island journey also includes resident rescues, village growth, and humorous reward minigames. Those activities sit alongside the platforming and boss encounters rather than replacing them as the main structure.
What is Tribal Hunter?
Tribal Hunter is an action platformer in which Munch, a guardian spirit, explores an island and fights enemies.
Eating foes fills a meter; gaining fullness can increase Munch’s size, and that meter can also be spent on healing or magic such as fireballs. A larger form deals stronger punches and takes less damage, but is also easier for enemies to hit, with piercing attacks posing an added threat. The island has 9 zones, each with its own enemies and visual style, plus a distinct boss in every zone. Munch can speak with island residents and rescue people to help a village grow. The journey also includes humorous minigames that award additional rewards, and a hidden island secret to discover.
How Tribal Hunter plays
- 01Size-based combat
- Growing increases punch strength and damage resistance, while also making Munch a larger target.
- 02Fullness-powered abilities
- The meter gained by eating enemies can be used for healing or spells such as fireballs.
- 03Zone bosses
- Each of the 9 zones has its own boss encounter.
- 04Village growth
- Rescuing island residents contributes to the development of Munch’s village.
- 05Reward minigames
- Optional humorous activities provide additional rewards.
