Is TraumaCore Violence worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Action players who want fast combat built around aerial chains and precise input timing
- Solo players who enjoy psychological settings and heavily edited, unsettling imagery
- Pairs with two controllers who want to play through a full action campaign together
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a slow, methodical action game may find the rapid combat and movement demanding
- Players who prefer fixed attack patterns may not enjoy managing momentum, direction, and extended combos
- Players looking for a broad exploration-focused adventure may find the combat-centered structure too narrow
Our take on TraumaCore Violence
Rather than treating movement as a separate platforming layer, the game makes attacks alter speed and direction. Its combo meter also offers a choice between preserving a streak for points or trading it for health, replacing a single reward path with a tactical decision.
What is TraumaCore Violence?
TraumaCore Violence is a 2D action game set inside Uzi’s fractured psyche.
Combat centers on aerial combos, rapid attacks, input timing, and animation cancellation. Each move can change momentum, speed, or direction, making movement part of attacking and allowing extended chains after mastering the moveset. Kills build a combo meter throughout each level. Players can continue the chain for a point bonus or exchange the combo for health. The full campaign supports optional two-player co-op, enabled through the game options and requiring two controllers. Its story follows Uzi as she searches for a way out of her mind, while the visual style uses heavily edited familiar imagery to create an atmosphere of stress and dread.
How TraumaCore Violence plays
- 01Momentum-based attacks
- Moves can change speed or direction, linking traversal and combat into the same movement system.
- 02Combo health exchange
- A kill streak can be preserved for a score bonus or converted into health during a level.
- 03Campaign co-op
- The complete campaign can be played by two people after enabling the mode and connecting two controllers.
- 04Psychological setting
- The campaign follows Uzi through the depths of her own mind as she searches for an escape.
TraumaCore Violence compared to similar games
TraumaCore Violence focuses on rapid 2D combat, aerial chains, momentum manipulation, and combo-based health or score choices. Sundered: Eldritch Edition is described as a chaotic metroidvania, while TraumaCore Violence emphasizes combo execution and optional two-player campaign co-op rather than metroidvania structure.
