Our take on Transports
Rather than ending at route construction, the game ties progression to business ranks and city office: reaching mayoral status opens a prestige-project win condition. Its transport-management structure also includes negotiations and rivalry with computer opponents.
What is Transports?
Transports is a transportation business simulation about building routes for trucks, buses, trains, ships, and aircraft.
Move goods and passengers between industries and cities, replace vehicles with newer versions, and research improvements to vehicle efficiency. Industries can offer special vehicle variants, while cities and power plants create delivery demands. Progress through ranks to unlock gameplay features, become a city mayor, and pursue political office. As mayor, building a prestige project can win the game. The game also includes company headquarters, procedurally generated maps, and up to 20 computer opponents. Opponents can be sabotaged, negotiated with, bought out, or worked with. Steam Workshop support allows players to create and share mods.
How Transports plays
- 01Industry management
- Keeping station stock low can earn production bonuses, while machinery and tools provide temporary production increases.
- 02City development
- Deliver goods, food, and luxury items to meet city needs, with larger populations generating more passengers.
- 03Opponent interaction
- Players can sabotage rivals, make agreements, cooperate on city services, or buy competitors.
- 04Rank progression
- Advancing through ranks opens gameplay features and eventually grants access to city leadership and political offices.
- 05Mod sharing
- Steam Workshop support allows players to make and share their own mods.
