- Adventure players interested in choosing whether to obey mission instructions
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat-focused action may find the routine- and mission-based structure less combat-driven
- Players wanting a single fixed storyline may not enjoy repeated runs with varying outcomes
- Players looking for a realistic science-fiction setting may dislike the humorous anachronistic tone
Our take on Trajectory
The game trades a tightly fixed narrative for player-directed variation: following or rejecting orders and exploring for records can change how a run unfolds, while the anachronistic humor limits its fit for players seeking consistently serious science fiction.
What is Trajectory?
Play as an inmate nearing the end of an undisclosed sentence aboard an Orbitek prison vessel in Earth's orbit.
Daily routines and missions range from maintenance work to dangerous exploits, with orders delivered by an onboard warden. Those orders can be followed or rejected. Exploration covers the inmate module, Earth, orbital areas, virtual reality, and locations beyond Earth. Different playthroughs can lead to different endings. The setting combines dystopian science fiction with humor and anachronistic technology, including floppy disks, ASCII flight displays, and text-adventure minigames. Exploration can reveal background material through collectibles such as journal entries and computer logs. The game supports VR headsets.
