Our take on Trailblader
Rather than centering on battles alone, this strategy game links settlement rebuilding and hero development with exploration. Its combat uses card combinations to handle exploration tasks, placing those choices within a wider migration-and-reconstruction structure.
What is Trailblader?
Trailblader combines turn-based strategy, city building, hero development, and loop-based combat.
After losing their homeland, a hero leads their people into the wilderness to establish a new one. Cities grow through districts selected for local environmental conditions, while heroes and factions explore new territory, fight monsters, and investigate an obelisk. Heroes develop through skill choices: 33 skills can lead to 21 hero classes. During exploration, card combinations are used to complete tasks. Players also choose technologies, beliefs, and cultural policies, and can trade with overseas ports through city-states. Assistance from different races and mercenaries can support expeditions.
