Our take on Townframe
The focus on relaxing exploration, varied tools, and handmade locations can make the game seem broad, but its stated 2–3-hour length makes it a compact puzzle experience. Optional objectives and small stories add variety without changing that limited scope.
What is Townframe?
Townframe is a puzzle game about reshaping towns to match residents’ memories and requests.
Characters provide written clues, while players alter buildings and use tools to investigate each scene. These include a magnifying glass for finding hidden details, controls for changing wind direction, photography, and audio listening. Each location contains a small story connected to its inhabitants and their relationship with the town. The game uses mouse controls, with the wheel for zooming, and offers optional puzzles that do not all need to be completed. Some puzzles can be selected in different map orders. The handmade locations include distinctive characters, humor, music, and environmental sound. Reading is required, and the game is stated to last 2–3 hours.
