Our take on ShantyTown
The relaxed, unrestricted construction comes at the cost of demanding challenge: optional goals guide play, but there are no wrong answers, time limits, or pressure to impose stronger structure.
What is ShantyTown?
ShantyTown is a casual diorama-building game focused on arranging dense urban spaces.
Players place buildings, decorations, utilities, lights, food trucks, signs, plants, and other objects within limited areas. Larger structures, including buildings and gates, can be upgraded by supplying the required elements; completed upgrades open additional objects and decorations. The game includes 20 locations, each with its own objects, atmosphere, and story, plus hidden items and optional goals. Finished scenes can be framed with camera settings, photographed, and added to a dossier. Creative Mode provides unlimited building with unlocked locations and items, while Blankspace offers a large sandbox for custom towns and shops. There is no time limit or pressure, and the game includes a soundtrack by vaporwave artist Macroblank.
