Our take on Total Party Kill
The defining constraint is that teammates serve as disposable puzzle equipment: the Knight throws them, the Mage freezes them, and the Ranger pins them to walls. Completion only requires one hero to reach the goal, making sacrifice part of the level structure.
What is Total Party Kill?
Guide three heroes through dark dungeon levels where sacrifice and friendly fire are central to solving puzzles.
The Knight can throw teammates, the Mage can turn them into ice blocks, and the Ranger can pin them to walls so they become platforms. A level is completed when at least one hero reaches the goal, allowing the others to serve as tools or sacrifices along the way. This extended edition includes redone art and animations, a new soundtrack by KungFuFurby, and additional challenging levels. The game won the Ludum Dare 43 game development competition, which used “Sacrifices must be made” as its theme.
How Total Party Kill plays
- 01Three Hero Abilities
- The Knight, Mage, and Ranger each provide a different way to manipulate teammates during puzzle solving.
- 02Friendly-Fire Puzzles
- Progress requires using attacks and abilities on party members rather than protecting every hero.
- 03Survivor-Based Goals
- A level is cleared when at least one controlled character reaches its endpoint.
- 04Extended Edition Content
- The edition adds revised visual presentation, a soundtrack by KungFuFurby, and extra challenging stages.
