SimulationIs Tostchu worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Horror players who prefer slow-building unease over jump scares.
- Management-game players who want a confined shop routine with serving and restocking.
- Players interested in eerie stories conveyed through customer conversations and broadcasts.
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players looking for exploration across a large environment may find the game’s action confined to the shop.
- Players seeking fast-paced horror may find the repeated serving and restocking cycle too deliberate.
- Players who want combat-focused horror may find the shop-management routine does not match that focus.
Our take on Tostchu
Players who need a changing, explorable setting may hit a wall once they realize the game keeps them inside the small shop. The central loop returns to serving customers, closing, and ordering ingredients, so anyone expecting combat or broad survival-crafting may lose interest at that routine.
What is Tostchu?
Tostchu is an atmospheric horror game set in rural Central Anatolia, where a temporary manager keeps a toast shop operating while the owner is away.
Each shift involves opening the shop, preparing toast to match customer requests, collecting payment, and closing up. Money earned during the day goes toward ordering ingredients for the next shift. The shop is a confined space with a living area, walk-in refrigerator, and service area. Customer orders and events are randomized, and strange occurrences can emerge through conversations, radio and television broadcasts, or direct observation. Toast preparation includes temperature and spoilage considerations, while shop upkeep includes cleaning. The game has multiple endings and no jump scares.
