Our take on TOP DOG
Rather than following a long campaign structure, the game centers on brief randomized sorties and repeating score competition. Its flight model is presented through arcade-style inputs, including a single control for guns or missiles and a separate target button with aim assistance.
What is TOP DOG?
TOP DOG is a roguelike air-combat game built around randomized runs lasting about 10–20 minutes.
Players pilot a strafe-capable supersonic VTOL, improve its capabilities during missions, and attack scores on daily leaderboards that reset every 36 hours. Three operations provide different run lengths, intensity levels, and scoring potential. Controls use a compact arcade layout: one button handles guns or missiles depending on input, another provides cinematic zoom and aim assistance, and thrust combines with strafing for evasion. The game offers a mouse-and-keyboard scheme modeled on first-person shooters, Xbox controller support, and support for other controllers and HOTAS devices through Steam Input. It is intended to run on hardware more than 10 years old.
