Our take on TombStar
The changing-run structure trades a fixed sequence of encounters for variation between attempts. Character abilities and upgraded perks add run-to-run choices, while the story is delivered through collected messages alongside the shooting rather than as the sole focus.
What is TombStar?
TombStar is a top-down space-western shooter with roguelike elements and bullet-hell combat.
Players fight creatures and Grimheart Gang members while using guns, dodging, cloaking, and explosives. The arsenal includes shotguns, the Armageddon Expander, and the Fireworks Cannon. Perks supplied by the Duon brothers can be upgraded during play. Three gunslingers—Jack Galloway, Benson Gara, and AJ Starchild—offer different abilities and play styles. Enemy groups include pistol-wielding cowpokes and robots equipped with death lasers. Each run changes the game, while collected messages reveal what happened on TombStar and explain the characters’ motives for confronting the gang.
