Is Tomba! Special Edition worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Platforming fans who want both directed stages and optional exploration
- Players who enjoy quest-based adventures with hidden treasures
- Retro game enthusiasts interested in archival advertisements, packaging, manuals, and artwork
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a tightly linear platformer may hit a wall when quests and exploration open up multiple directions.
- Players who want platforming without bite-and-throw combat may bounce off the central movement and attack set.
- Players looking for a purely modern presentation may not value the museum of historical material and the interview extra.
Our take on Tomba! Special Edition
The likely bounce point comes when the adventure shifts from straightforward platforming into its mixed structure of quests, exploration, and hidden objectives. Players who prefer a single route may lose momentum once progress depends on discovering characters, relics, and treasures across the wider world.
