Our take on Toastercide
Instead of centering traversal on a character, vehicle, or conventional platforming moveset, the game makes a toaster’s power cord the main movement system. Bathtubs become targets, while timed missions and toast abilities replace the usual adventure progression.
What is Toastercide?
Toastercide casts the player as a toaster tasked with reaching targets in bathtubs.
Movement centers on two cord functions: powered objects pull the toaster rapidly toward them, while unpowered objects let the cord act as a rope for changing momentum. Time can also be slowed. Missions take place in settings such as a college dormitory, a suburban home, Santa’s workshop, and Dallas in 1963, with goons and hazards including water, bullets, and the ground. Toast collected during missions can be ejected to activate abilities such as invincibility, dashing, teleportation, burning projectiles, and toast swapping. The game supports speedrunning, three-star goals, and repeated attempts to improve completion times.
