Our take on To The Core
Rather than centering on combat or quests, this incremental game builds its progression around drilling planets, managing fuel, and turning mined resources into equipment upgrades. Resource mastery adds another layer: repeated mining increases the drop rate for that resource.
What is To The Core?
To The Core centers on drilling through planets in an incremental progression game and gathering materials for upgrades.
Players travel through a solar system, selecting planets with increasingly demanding challenges and different resources. Each expedition is constrained by fuel, so gathering materials before the supply runs out is part of the process. Those materials can improve drill durability, fuel capacity and damage, as well as purchase other unusual upgrades. An automatic mastery system strengthens collected resources as they are mined: reaching 100 iron mined, for instance, raises its drop rate by 5%.
