Our take on Tilefinder

Rather than treating each rogue-like run as a complete reset, Tilefinder ties lasting upgrades to specific deeds performed inside the game. Its chess-like battles also place board interactions and spell combinations at the center of each turn.

What is Tilefinder?

Tilefinder is a turn-based, rogue-like grid RPG set in a procedurally generated kingdom.

Players choose 2 of 3 playable characters, explore changing maps, and fight monsters and humans in tactical battles shaped by positioning, spells, items, and combinations. Each run offers different enemies, spells, and loot, requiring strategy changes based on the available options. The game includes 3 playable classes, over 35 distinct monsters, 11 uniquely designed bosses, and more than 100 items and passive treasures. Each class has its own spell set, with over a dozen learnable spells per character. Persistent upgrades are unlocked by completing specific in-game tasks. The objective is to recover the legendary Tile shards and seal the released corruption beneath the castle.

Tilefinder compared to similar games

Tilefinder combines procedurally generated kingdom exploration, character classes, spells, loot, and persistent upgrades in a grid-based rogue-like RPG. Shogun Showdown also uses turn-based rogue-like combat and attack combinations, but centers progression on upgrading attack tiles, building a deck, and confronting the Shogun.
