ActionIs ThunderGod worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- VR arcade players who enjoy throwing weapons at successive enemy waves
- Score-chasers who want to maintain a multiplier and compete for a high score
- Players who like learning enemy-specific attack patterns across difficulty levels
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a story-led campaign may find the wave-based defense and score pursuit too limited in narrative structure.
- Players who dislike repeating encounters to improve a score may hit a wall with the game’s multiplier and bonus-point focus.
- Players without Vive or Oculus controls may find the listed controller options do not match their setup.
Our take on ThunderGod
Players who expect varied campaign progression may bounce off once the four increasingly difficult levels establish the same core loop: throw the hammer, manage the multiplier, and defend the village. The scoring system makes repeated attempts part of the structure.
What is ThunderGod?
Play as Thor and throw Mjölnir at waves of giants threatening a human village.
The arcade-style VR game has four levels with increasing difficulty. Hammer throws are controlled in the air, and each group of three defeated enemies charges a lightning attack. Avoiding incoming rocks preserves the score multiplier. Enemies have different rules: shield giants can block hammer hits, while frost giants need two hits and lava giants must be struck twice in quick succession. Houses can withstand two hits, and surviving houses contribute bonus points. Scores also account for play speed and successful hits. The game supports Vive and Oculus controls, as well as keyboard hotkeys for pausing, restarting, and quitting.
How ThunderGod plays
- 01Charged lightning attack
- Defeating three enemies earns a lightning shot, activated with the controller's touchpad or face buttons.
- 02Enemy-specific hit rules
- Shield, frost, and lava giants each require different approaches to defeat.
- 03Score bonuses
- End-of-level points reflect surviving houses, speed, and hits landed with the hammer or lightning.
- 04Four difficulty levels
- The levels increase in difficulty as players progress.
