Our take on Thunder Rally
The focus on local demolition matches trades broader racing variety for concentrated arena chaos. Vehicle control is only part of the contest: overturned cars, on-foot attacks, powerups, and post-death catapults keep the action centered on disruption rather than conventional racing.
What is Thunder Rally?
Thunder Rally is a local multiplayer demolition derby where drivers attack rival cars and knock them out of the arena.
Drifting into opponents increases the force of collisions. A flipped or displaced vehicle does not end the action: its driver can continue on foot, attack cars, and risk being run over. Powerups appear during matches, including sticky bombs, heat-seeking missiles, and a black hole launcher. After a driver dies, that character becomes a catapult carrying explosive barrels, adding another hazard to the arena. Matches can be played against the CPU when local opponents are unavailable.
How Thunder Rally plays
- 01On-foot combat
- Drivers can leave the vehicle after it is overturned or pushed out, then attack cars with punches.
- 02Destructive powerups
- Match pickups include sticky explosives, tracking missiles, and a device that creates a black hole.
- 03Post-death hazards
- Dead drivers return as explosive-barrel catapults that add further attacks to the arena.
- 04CPU opponents
- Single-player matches can use computer-controlled opponents instead of nearby friends.
