Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a primarily combat-focused action game may find the puzzle and exploration sections too prominent

- Players who prefer open-world environments may find the clock tower’s five-location structure restrictive
Our take on The Watchmaker
Rather than using a conventional health bar, the game makes rapid ageing its central pressure mechanic. Time manipulation is also part of puzzle solving, so the setting’s clockwork theme shapes both the story problem and the player’s tools.
What is The Watchmaker?
The Watchmaker is an action-adventure puzzle game set inside a steampunk clock tower where time has become unstable.
Alexander, the tower’s keeper, must investigate sabotage while ageing unusually fast. Exploration takes place across five large areas filled with mechanical structures, obstacles, enemies, riddles, and collectible items. A magnetic glove and time-control abilities provide tools for solving environmental puzzles. The gameplay combines exploration, platforming, puzzle solving, combat, and boss encounters. As Alexander searches for the saboteur, he also uncovers secrets connected to the tower and its history. His ageing process replaces a conventional health bar, making time itself part of the game’s central structure.
How The Watchmaker plays
- 01Five Tower Areas
- The adventure moves through five extensive locations within the clock tower.
- 02Ageing-Based Survival

- 03Magnetic Puzzle Tools
- Environmental challenges use a magnetic glove alongside abilities that alter time.
- 04Mixed Gameplay
- Exploration, platforming, riddles, enemy encounters, and boss battles share the same adventure.
The Watchmaker compared to similar games
