Our take on The UnderGarden
Its relaxed pace and focus on environmental puzzles trade away the urgency of action-focused games. Progress depends on exploring at an individual rhythm, so players seeking constant combat or rapid challenge escalation may find the experience restrained.
What is The UnderGarden?
The UnderGarden is a casual exploration game set in underground caverns populated by unusual life forms, hidden areas, music, and environmental puzzles.
Players search for members of a musical band, solve obstacles, and guide them back to the surface. Physics-based challenges use grown fruit to weigh down levers or raise platforms, while plants can be cultivated to change the surrounding environment. Strange creatures may be befriended or avoided. Progress follows the player’s pace and exploration choices. The game includes 20 levels with distinct visual settings, accessible controls, serene audio, and two-player cooperative play.
