Our take on The TakeOver
Instead of limiting play to one fixed fighter, the game adds an unlockable Relay Mode for switching among four characters during a run. Sustained combos also build the meter used for Super attacks.
What is The TakeOver?
The TakeOver is a side-scrolling beat ’em up with solo play and local co-op.
It includes Arcade, Survival, and Challenge modes, with seven stages spanning more than 20 locations. Four characters use linked punches and kicks to stun, launch, and juggle enemies, filling a Super meter for special attacks. Weapons such as crowbars, swords, and machine guns appear throughout levels, while each character has a distinct sidearm with limited ammunition. Relay Mode allows character changes during play. Three difficulty settings are available: Easy, Normal, and Hard. Hard mode removes continues, starts at Stage 1, and increases enemy speed, aggression, and numbers. Comic-style cutscenes present the story.
