Our take on The Shadow Society
Rather than using a visual adventure format, this modern fantasy is presented as a text-only interactive novel. Its structure centers on choices about trust, relationships, and allegiance, with the story’s outcome shaped by those decisions.
What is The Shadow Society?
A dream prompts a return to the protagonist’s deserted childhood home, where strange features reveal a route to a parallel world linked to their ancestors.
This 550,000-word interactive novel uses text alone, without graphics or sound effects. Choices shape the protagonist’s identity, relationships, loyalties, and the course of events. Players can select a male, female, or non-binary character and choose among several sexual orientations. Romance paths include five available partners and two hidden options; players may also enter a love triangle involving siblings or remain single. Decisions guide whom to trust, befriend, or oppose, and whether to join the conflict between the two worlds. The story stands on its own, with no follow-up installments planned.
