What is The Sentient?
The Sentient casts players as an artificial intelligence tasked with supporting humanity’s space exploration.
At the orbital station called The Ark, players can recruit crew members, change the ship’s layout, and conduct research. Crew members have perks and daily needs, and they can be trained for future missions. Away from the station, players explore unpredictable sectors in randomly generated universes and encounter unknown alien life. Ship design and crew capabilities shape ship-to-ship battles. Players can adjust systems such as shield generators, shield consoles, weapon tanks, and weapon consoles to change the ship’s defenses and damage output. Research gained during play can be used to improve weapons, ship statistics, and other capabilities.

The Sentient compared to similar games
Old World focuses on leading a historical empire across generations, including political marriages and raising heirs.
