StrategyIs The Prism worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Puzzle-platformer fans who want environmental challenges built around two characters
- Two-player households seeking local cooperative gameplay
- Players who prefer atmospheric escape stories set in unusual worlds
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking combat-focused progression may hit a wall because the core challenges center on platforming and puzzles
- Solo players who dislike coordinating two characters may struggle when doors and obstacles require both prisoners
- Players looking for an open-world prison game may find the experience too focused on constructed puzzle situations
Our take on The Prism
Players who cannot coordinate two characters will likely bounce off when progress depends on using 02 and 03 together. The difficulty may also become a stopping point for anyone looking for a relaxed platformer, since the game presents dangerous settings and demanding puzzles.
What is The Prism?
The Prism is a 2D puzzle-platformer about 02 and 03, two pixels trapped inside a vast prison that watches their movements.
The prison itself is alive, with distant eyes observing its occupants. Players navigate challenges across changing environments, using the characters’ abilities and cooperation to open doors and progress. Puzzles require the two characters to work together, whether controlled by one player or by two people in local multiplayer. The game combines platforming, environmental puzzles, music, and visual art within a hostile prison setting. Escape is possible, but the journey includes dangerous situations and difficult tests.
How The Prism plays
- 01Local co-op
- Two people can control the characters together on the same local game session.
- 02Character cooperation
- 02 and 03 must be used together to solve puzzles, open doors, and move forward.
- 03Living prison
- The setting observes the prisoners through distant eyes and reacts as an active presence.
- 04Changing environments
- New elements and surroundings create different situations around the characters’ available abilities.
