Our take on The Pillage
Rather than centering a fixed combat arena or linear campaign, the game places its violent arcade loop in a procedurally generated city where citizens, police, gangs, and other systems react to the player's actions.
What is The Pillage?
The Pillage is a fast hack-and-slash arcade game set in a procedurally generated city.
The player uses a knife and larger weapons to attack people and collect kidneys, which can be spent on additional weapons. Citizens may report crimes to police, while gangs can ignore the player or attack depending on events. Procedural systems govern buildings, terrain, sky, character traits, gang appearances, ghosts, and police difficulty. Achievements provide access to perks such as increased starting health, extended slow motion, double jumps, and higher speed. Four special abilities include summoning attacking crows, entering an invulnerable rage, calling sidekicks, and creating a damaging eye. A global leaderboard records scores and provides score details.
