Players manage the expedition’s economy, technology, fleets, officers, diplomacy, and combat. A council of advisors brings developments, crises, and incidents for resolution. Relations with more than 30 independent factions involve deals, treaties, alliances, rivalries, and dialogue choices. Espionage, force movement, and warfront planning shape military campaigns. The galaxy includes characters, sidequests, resistance movements, changing threats, and plot turns. Moral decisions and other actions affect the unfolding campaign as the expedition moves from exploration toward governance, conquest, and survival.
