Our take on THE MONSTER OF MEMORY:DESTINY
Rather than centering play on exploration or combat, this adventure unfolds through text, illustrations, and character choices. Its focus is a manga adaptation with added storylines, using branching decisions and multiple endings as its main form of interaction.
What is THE MONSTER OF MEMORY:DESTINY?
THE MONSTER OF MEMORY:DESTINY adapts a manga into a visual novel about Sumi, whose life changes after a railway accident.
Hoping to follow his older brother Haru, he applies to RE614, a special agency for intelligent creatures. One creature has Haru’s appearance, raising questions about the effect it will have on Sumi. The story uses text, character illustrations, music, and sound effects; mouse clicks advance scenes, while choices shape character decisions and lead to different endings. The adaptation includes 16 full-colour illustrations from the manga, more than 700 images featuring eight characters, Chinese voice acting, and three new storylines and memories. The game also contains descriptions of gay men.
